Canada Reads 2011

Lorne will be participating in the Canada Reads LIVE debates, hosted by Jian Ghomeshi on Feb 7, 8 & 9.
If you’re in the Toronto area head down to the CBC studios!

Lorne will be defending ‘Unless’ by Carol Shields. The live debates, hosted by Jian Ghomeshi of CBC Radio’s Q, will be held at the CBC’s Canadian Broadcast Centre in Toronto.

The celebrity panelists taking part in this year’s battle of the books along with Lorne Cardinal (Corner Gas) are former NHL enforcer and activist Georges Laraque, indie music darling Sara Quin from Tegan & Sara, designer and TV personality Debbie Travis and CNN broadcaster Ali Velshi.

There will be three live shows. They will take place on February 7, 8 & 9.

There are three ways you can take part:

1) LISTEN on CBC Radio One at 11am in your time zone.
2) ATTEND the debates!
For the first time ever, the Canada Reads debates will feature a live studio audience. You can join the panelists at the CBC studios in Toronto to take part in this historic event. For more on how to get tickets, visit this website or email Bronwyn Page at bronwyn.page@cbc.ca.
3) WATCH the event
For the first time ever (it’s a year of firsts!) the debates will be streamed live on cbc.ca/canadareads. The video will be streamed at 10am ET across the country. They’ll be live chatting throughout the event, so be sure to join in.

Get ready for the ultimate battle of the books!
